PRISMA 2024
The PRISMA 2024 edition is titled "One-on-One" and brings together a collection of artworks that make the body its central theme. In the era of tattoos, piercings, avatars, and virtual reality, this edition navigates between the organic and the digital, sometimes inviting the spectator to interact with the scene.
The body is increasingly regarded as a means of individual expression, and technologies have expanded its possibilities. It serves as a canvas where stories are inscribed or projected, generating a multiplicity of narratives that break with the linearity of the past. The real and the virtual now complement each other in an overlay of lives with variable cycles, where a feed can truly take on the form of sustenance— or a livelihood.
The works presented here explore this theme from various perspectives. They reveal the body as a spectre of the past, expose its survival mechanisms, or embrace its fusion with the machine.
