MISE EN ABYME
[GB]Vicki Bennett (People Like Us)
Vicki Bennett's "Mise en Abyme" for Aveiro 2024 - Portuguese Capital of Culture explores human experience through dense collage and recursive narraBve. This spatial cinema installation liberates actors from scripts, inviBng audiences into a space where the boundaries between self and other, between individual and collective experience, begin to blur. In doing so, it beckons viewers to confront and transcend the existential barriers that define and limit our understanding of narrative, identity, and connectivity, creating a space for collective introspection and existential revelation within the immersive expanse of spatial cinema.
